5 KEY JEWELRY TRENDS TO KNOW IN 2025

Not long ago the “clean girl” look dominated people’s Instagram feeds with barely-there gold jewelry and delicate hoop earrings. But in fashion, one day, you’re clean; the next day, you’re decked out. So the runways bid adieu to this trend with a maximalist force that’s got the industry buzzing. And nowhere was this swing more visible than in the jewelry.

Chunky, stacked bracelets, long, beaded necklaces, opulent, gilded adornments! The runways pulled off a “more is more” approach that felt like walking inside the Sistine Chapel, finding more intricate details with each look. Brands like Saint Laurent, Miu Miu, Chanel, and Chloé made jewelry the central focus of their collections, rather than just embellishments, using their lavishness to bring home their statement. As expected, Alessandro Michele‘s debut at Valentino welcomed back the designer’s larger-than-life design sensibility, featuring long-tasseled and bulbous earrings. Even designers whose work is more minimalist and practical, like Tibi’s Amy Smilovic, used jewelry to showcase her boundary-pushing perspective on utilitarianism through a chain that appeared in the collection as a belt, a bracelet, and a necklace.

As the year’s trends get underway, there’s no doubt that one of the easiest ways to go back to a maximalist wardrobe is through jewelry. Ahead, are five lavish jewelry trends for a grand 2025.

Baroque Times

With its gilt and gilded details, the Baroque era continues to inspire fashion in 2025. At shows like Saint Laurent, Valentino, Etro, and Emporio Armani, the maximalist, opulent, and lavish aesthetic is reflected mostly in jewelry through big, chunky necklaces stacked over one another and oversized, geometrically intricate earrings.

Along with baroque’s maximalist wave, beaded jewelry was featured on the spring/summer 2025 runways. At Saint Laurent, long, layered maxi beaded necklaces were displayed alongside equally lavish dresses and leather jackets, while Gabriela Hearst went more minimalist, placing beaded necklaces alongside more subtle frocks. The styles were also seen at Etro and Ralph Lauren, both evoking a “more is more” approach.

Why wear just one bracelet? That’s a question many designers posed for the spring/summer 2025 runways, including at Chanel, Hermès, Saint Laurent. The maximalist swing fashion’s going through translated into thick, big, and stacked bracelets, whether it was gold chain-linked versions at Chanel or more subtle leather cuffs at Hermés.

Ever since Chloé’s fall/winter 2024 collection ushered in the return of boho, the chain belt mania has had no breaks. And it seems 2025 will continue to see this trend rise. It was at Chemena Kamali’s sophomore collection for Chloé that similar logo chain belts appeared, while Tibi’s Amy Smilovic played with chains to create a belt that could be adjusted to be worn as a necklace and bracelet. At Miu Miu, stacked chain belts appeared alongside leather ones in a mismatched effort from Miuccia Prada.

Fringe clothing is one of 2025’s top fashion trends, so it makes sense that jewelry would follow through. Tassels were featured on the runways of Valentino, Balmain, and Chloé, further expanding fashion’s boho and opulent moment. Whether it’s long tassel necklaces reminiscent of the mid-2010s era, or long statement-making tassel earrings at Valentino, the more movement in your jewelry the better.
